Whether traveling to Tanzania on a single-entry, transit, or multiple-entry visa, you’ll want to ensure you have the correct documents to submit. While Tanzania doesn’t require a passport, it does require a health surveillance form. Fortunately, you can take some simple steps to apply for a multiple-entry visa to Tanzania.
Single entry visa
There are many reasons to get a Tanzania tourist visa. You can go for a short vacation, for a holiday, to visit a family member, for business purposes, or charity. But if you plan to stay in Tanzania for a long time, you should opt for a multi-entry Tanzania visa application. In addition, if you plan to work in Tanzania, you must provide a copy of your work contract and itinerary for your stay.
For a single entry visa, you must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity beyond the intended day of entry. You also need a recent photo. Depending on your purpose of travel, you may also be required to submit a letter of introduction from the institution where you are going to study or proof of your sponsorship or scholarship. Moreover, if you are a minor, you must bring your parent’s consent or a copy of your residence permit in your country of origin.
Transit visa
If you are traveling to Tanzania but will not enter the country, you must apply for a transit visa. The Tanzanian government has made it very easy to obtain this visa. The application process only takes a few minutes and will be delivered to your e-mail address. Once you apply, you must print your confirmation e-mail or Approved Visa Grant Notice (AVGN) letter. You will also need to show the Tanzania Entry Arrival declaration form and the same passport that you used to make the application.
While applying for a transit visa for Tanzania, you must show that you have the means to pay for your trip. You will also need to show you have a hotel reservation in Tanzania. These two documents are often accompanied by other documents that prove your ability to pay for the trip. You can also submit a copy of your biographic data page for your passport. To apply for a transit visa for Tanzania, you must first meet the requirements set forth by the Tanzanian government.
Multiple-entry visa
A multiple-entry visa to Tanzania is required for most countries to visit this beautiful African country. In addition, citizens of the European Union, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and many other countries must get a visa before visiting. Although some countries are exempt, some do require a visa. In this case, it is important to contact your nearest Tanzanian embassy to determine the requirements for visiting the country.
Citizens of China, India, and Brazil do not need visas to travel to Tanzania. However, US citizens should obtain a multiple-entry visa, which costs $100 and allows multiple entries in 12 months. This visa allows for stays of up to three months in each entry. US citizens will need to justify their need for a multiple-entry visa, but it is worth it. It’s worth noting that the cost of a multiple-entry visa to Tanzania is much higher than a single-entry visa.
Traveler’s health surveillance form
If traveling to Tanzania, you must complete a traveler’s health surveillance form within 24 hours of arrival and even before you reach Zanzibar. You may also be required to have a blood test if you are under five years old, and you must be in good health.
A PCR or rapid flow test costs $25 per person and must be paid in cash at the border. In addition, to get a multiple entry visa to Tanzania, you must complete a form that provides information about your current health conditions.
You can complete the health surveillance form online by entering your details and passport information. When applying, remember to choose your preferred country of residence. If you are a dual national, you will have to choose the country of your choice.
You must also provide the details of your Next of Kin, including a current postal address. Once you have submitted your form, remember to print a QR code and show it to the Port Health Officer at the border.
